Insurance restructuring push: Govt revisits merger plan for PSU general insurers; capital infusion, privatisation options back on table

This move revives a 2018 proposal aimed at boosting efficiency. Alongside this, the government is assessing options for privatizing a general insurer and plans to raise the FDI cap in the insurance sector to 100%.
